The annual Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) collection is traditionally held the weekend before Thanksgiving. You can contribute now through Realm, Newman’s online giving platform. For over fifty years, CCHD has served as the US Conference of Catholic Bishops’ domestic anti-poverty program. The belief that those who are directly affected by unjust systems and structures have the best insight into knowing how to change them is central to CCHD. CCHD helps low-income people participate in decisions that affect their lives, families, and communities. Last year, the Diocese of Raleigh raised over $80,000 in CCHD funds. The collection’s 25% local share was distributed to eight parishes and organizations in the diocese that are helping to alleviate poverty in our state. In addition, five local community organizations—including Orange County Justice United--received over $250,000 in national grants. Your contributions to the annual Catholic Campaign for Human Development are helping to make a difference in our local community. Thank you for your generosity!
