Friar Timothy Kulbicki is a native of Baltimore, MD, where he attended Catholic elementary and high schools. He entered the Conventual Franciscan Order and professed his first vows in 1977 and his solemn vows in 1981. Fr. Tim received his priestly formation at the Order’s seminaries in Granby, MA, and in Rome, Italy, and was ordained in 1986. After serving as parochial vicar at Mater Dolorosa Parish in Holyoke, MA, he returned to Rome for graduate studies, completing his Licentiate in Ecclesiastical History at the Pontifical Gregorian University in 1990 and his Doctorate in 1997. After service as parochial vicar at St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Parish in Baltimore, MD, he was named to the faculty at St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore as Associate Professor of Church History and member of the formation faculty. During his tenure (1997-2013) he assumed several administrative roles, including Dean of the School of Theology and Praeses of the Ecclesiastical Faculty. From 2013-2019 he served at the Order’s General Curia in Rome, spearheading the process for the revision, consultation process, and approval of the Order’s Constitutions and General Statutes.
On Sunday, September 29, 2019, Friar Timothy Kulbicki, OFM Conv. was formally installed as the Pastor and Campus Minister of the Newman Catholic Student Center Parish.
