Praying for our loved ones, living or deceased, is a spiritual work of mercy and an important component of our Catholic faith as disciples. Whenever Mass is celebrated, the priest-celebrant may offer the Mass for a particular intention. That intention can be for a living person’s health, well-being, or needs; for the eternal repose of a deceased person or family; or any other intention. One Mass is offered each weekend for the good of the entire Newman Community.
To request a Mass be said for an individual or family, you may:
Fill out the form at the bottom of this page. A suggested offering of at least $10 for each Mass Intention is requested. Mass offerings traditionally are an act of charity to provide a priest with a daily wage if he were unemployed.
Use the button link below to make a Mass Intention offering after you have already scheduled a date for your Mass intention through the parish office. Please include the name of the person for whom the Mass will be offered in the memo line, along with the date you have previously scheduled. Please note your intention is not scheduled until you receive confirmation from the parish office.
Complete a Mass Intention Request envelope (found in the Church narthex), add your donation and drop the envelope in the Offertory Box; mail - or drop off - your intention to the Activity Center (9:30 AM to 2:30 PM); or call 919.929.3730 during normal business hours to schedule a Mass intention and to make your offering by credit card over the phone.
Please note: Only single individuals or families per each Mass Intention. For example: +John Smith or Deceased members of the Smith Family OR John Smith or The Smith Family.
